Play Hockey With The Scarboro Sabres!!

The SABRES MISSION:

  • To develop our players’s skills and self-confidence;
  • To teach fair play and sportsmanship; and
  • To instill in the players the idea of TEAM WORK!

WHO ARE WE?

Back in 1967, when we first joined the Scarborough Hockey Association (SHA), we were called the Scarboro Central Lions.  Our name was later changed to the Scarboro Sabres, and in 1982 we moved to the Scarborough Village Arena at 3600 Kingston Road (at Markham), as our home ice.

The Scarboro Sabres have always offered community-based, non-profit hockey to the children of Toronto, in the form of both a House League and competitive teams.  We continue to be a member of the Scarborough Hockey Association which falls under the umbrella of the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL).

NEW HOUSE LEAGUE
THE SCARBOROUGH YOUTH HOCKEY LEAGUE  (SYHL)

With declining enrolment in hockey all across Toronto, the Scarboro Sabres, the Agincourt Canadians and Cedar Hill Rebels have joined together to create one large house league in order to provide better training and competition for the young hockey players in Scarborough.

The new house league is called the Scarborough Youth Hockey League (SYHL).  They offer non-profit hockey for children 3 years of age and up, including hockey school and skating sessions.  SYHL also offers Select teams.  If you’re interested in house league, check out their website for more information and registration.

COMPETITIVE ‘A’ HOCKEY – The SCARBORO SABRES SHA CLUB

The Scarboro Sabres SHA Club continues to provide community-based, non-profit competitive hockey in the SHA league.  For more information, check out our SHA page.
